Hi, I'm Danielle, Director of A Beautiful Bump 2 Baby. I am a registered division 1 nurse and midwife with over 18 years of experience in clinics and hospitals. I have a current working with children's checks and police checks.

 

I am extremely passionate about educating and preparing women and their families in all aspects of pregnancy, labour and mothercraft. Equipping parents with the skills and confidence in caring for a new addition to the family.

 

Being a mother of 3 myself, I recognise the need for additional support, guidance and hands-on education, to enable better understanding and encourage confident parents before the baby is born, reducing postpartum depression and anxiety.

After working in numerous hospitals and clinic settings I found a large gap in knowledge families had on pregnancy, birthing and also the education provided after the birth of a baby.

 

I found women straight away asking for epidurals and pethidine when just starting labour. I discussed other natural methods of pain relief with the families and most then required no medical pain relief at all.
 

Also, I found women in a mess on home visits, saying that they weren't shown how to do certain mothercraft skills. I use to spend hours debriefing and demonstrating how to do certain care for the baby that parents weren't educated on during their stay in hospital or never got the opportunity to actually perform the skill.
